Levi Gets Potty Trained

Levi learned to wear big boy pants in 36 hours, more or less

September 2005 -- When Levi sat in front of Mom and said "I have to go pee," and then did, only to have his diaper leak so that it was obvious that he really was, Mom knew that it was time to start the potty training process.  Armed with zoo animal stickers and a calendar, Mom gave Levi his challenge: go potty five days with no accidents and he could earn a trip to the zoo.  That was the evening of July 6.  By the afternoon of July 8, Levi was pretty much potty trained, telling Mom or Dad when he had to go potty or just heading there by himself.  In less than a week, he had even progressed from the potty chair to the real thing.

Lately he has had a few very wet setbacks--once in the yard picking apples and once at the doctor's office (oops!)--and various small ones.  He is doing well at nights though, almost always waking up dry.  Of course, sometimes that means he's calling for Mom in the middle of the night.
