Levi's Favorite Foods
A fruit and vegetable kind of guy
May 2004 -- When Mom fixes dinner, Levi tries to get
between her and the cabinets to push her away so she can pick him up to watch.
He's been hearing "hot" for many months now when he comes around the stove at
mealtime, so it's no wonder that "hot" is one of his first words, and probably
his most used word. As we prepare his meals, he's constantly hanging
around, saying "hot, hot, hot."
Levi has always been a very good eater, if you don't count
that he wouldn't take bottle as an infant. He started eating cereal when
he was 4 1/2 months old. Some meals he ate well, yet others he hardly at
ate all. When he began eating other solids, his favorite food was sweet
potatoes (much to Dad's dismay). Today, he eats a variety of food,
preferring fruits and vegetables. One of his most interesting favorites is
cranberry sauce. Lately, Levi's most requested foods have been cheese (colby
jack), bananas, and cantaloupe. He is pickiest when it comes to eating
meat. Some days he is very good about eating meat, but most days he
refuses it all together. Of course, he never refuses an Oreo after dinner!
Update September 2005
-- Levi is now much more open to eating meat, and ham is his favorite. He
will also eat chicken (preferably in nugget form) and tuna, but little beef or
other fish. He will share Mommy's spinach salad (spinach, cucumbers, green
peppers (the last two are great snacks for him), and mushrooms--hold the
tomatoes). He likes his pizza with mushrooms and green peppers, but he
likes any flavor pizza rolls. Levi's favorite has to be chocolate milk.
Most days, he will drink four cups of milk dusted with Rich Chocolate Ovaltine.
